Step 1: View your assigned video clip from the RED DAY and BLACK DAY buttons to the right.
Step 2: Create your Google Document 1. Create a Google document by clicking on the array(pictured right). 2. Click on Drive icon. 3. Click on "NEW". 4. Choose "Google Docs". When it is finished, this will be a two-page document. On the first page you will type a general description of the concept/information you want to convey to viewers; what you want to "teach". The second page of your Google document will simply have one image on it: an image of your Comic Life infographic. Now that you have your first page of the Google document done, go on to the next part. Step 3: Gather up a few digital images to use for your Comic Life Infographic At least one of these images should be a picture of YOU. The rest can be whatever you want, as long as they help you to tell us information about your internet safety issue. Pictures can be digital photos right from your phone, or you could get them from the Internet. If you do not have digital images of yourself—take a selfie or have a friend take one of you and send it to your gmail. You will not need more than 4 to 5 pictures to make a Comic Life infographic page. Put selected pictures into your My Pictures folder in your H: Drive. That way they will be available to you in Comic Life. Step 4: Look at the Comic Life tutorial and make your own infographic. Comic Life is very easy to use, but it may help to look through the tutorial tab as you get started with it. Go through the tutorial and then create your own infographic. And have fun doing it! Comic Life is a wonderful program, a true joy to use, and it has won awards for having a delightfully intuitive interface (listen for the sound effects!). Just keep in mind that in order for your digital images to easily show up, they must be placed into the Pictures folder. Step 5: Save your Comic Life page as a JPEG image Follow the directions in the tutorial and save your one-page comic as a JPEG image into your My Pictures folder in your folder on the H: Drive. Step 6: Insert your JPEG comic page image into your Google document Insert the image into the second page of your Google document. Click the Insert menu, go to Pictures, and then select From File. In the window that opens, navigate to where you saved the Comic Life JPEG image and select it. Then arrange this image so it fills up the second page of the Word document as much as possible. Step 7: Submit your two-page Google document to me. Your two-page Google document will automatically save. Simply grant me permission by clicking "share".
